Pirou is a French commune with 1,438 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Coutances and the canton Créances (until 2015: Canton Lessay ). The inhabitants are called pirouais .

geography

Pirou is about 36 kilometers west-northwest of Saint-Lô on the Gulf of Saint-Malo in the English Channel . Pirou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Créances in the north, La Feuillie in the east, Muneville-le-Bingard in the southeast and Geffosses in the south.
