Vesly is a French municipality with 725 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement Coutances and the Canton of Créances (until 2015: Canton La Haye-du-Puits and Canton Lessay ). The inhabitants are called Veslionais or Veslissiens .
geography
Vesly is located on the Cotentin peninsula in the Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Regional Nature Park and about 18 kilometers north of Coutances . Vesly is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of La Haye with Mobecq in the north and northwest, Montsenelle with Lithaire in the north, Le Plessis-Lastelle in the northeast, Laulne in the east, Saint-Patrice-de-Claids in the southeast, Millières in the south and southeast and the Commune nouvelle Lessay with the Communes déléguées Lessay and Angoville-sur-Ay in the southwest and west.

Since 1972, the municipality Gerville-la-Forêt has belonged to the municipality (until 2015, this part of the municipality belonged to the canton of La Haye-du-Puits).
