The canton Lessay was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement of Coutances , in Manche department and in the region of Basse-Normandie ; its main town was Lessay . The last representative on the General Council of the Département was Jean-François Le Grand ( non-party ) from 1976 to 2015 .

The canton was about 169 km² and had 8,200 inhabitants (1999), which corresponded to a population density of 48.5 inhabitants per km².
