Until the reorganization, the canton of Bréhal consisted of the 14 municipalities of Anctoville-sur-Boscq , Bréhal , Bréville-sur-Mer , Bricqueville-sur-Mer , Cérences , Chanteloup , Coudeville-sur-Mer , Hudimesnil , Longueville , Le Loreur , Le Mesnil -Aubert , La Meurdraquière , Muneville-sur-Mer and Saint-Sauveur-la-Pommeraye . Its layout corresponded to an area of 125.74 km 2 .

- Merger of Braffais (canton Isigny-le-Buat), Plomb (canton Avranches) and Sainte-Pience → Le Parc
- Merger of Angey (Canton Avranches), Champcey (Canton Avranches), La Rochelle-Normande , Montviron (Canton Avranches) and Sartilly (Canton Avranches) → Sartilly-Baie-Bocage
