IC 2222 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc with an active galaxy core in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 442 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2221 and IC 2224 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 10, 1896 .
