IC 2211 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sa with an active galaxy core in the constellation Gemini on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 238 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter. Presumably it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with PGC 93041 . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2212 and IC 2214 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 11, 1898 .
