IC 2212 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa with an active galaxy core in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is an estimated 378 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2211 and IC 2214 .

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 11, 1898 .
