IC 2214 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Lynx in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 263 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2211 and IC 2212 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on February 7, 1896 .
