IC 2491 is a lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Little Leo in the northern sky . It is an estimated 366 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 2496 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 14, 1903 .
