IC 2493 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Little Leo the northern sky . It is an estimated 276 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 2922 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on May 14, 1903 .
