NGC 2922 is an irregular galaxy of Hubble type in the constellation Leo Minor at the northern sky . It is an estimated 194 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 2493 .
The object was discovered by Édouard Stephan on March 18, 1884 .
