NGC 2933 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type S in the constellation Leo north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 189 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2928 , NGC 2934 , NGC 2941 , NGC 2943 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on April 1, 1864 .
