NGC 2950 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 62 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on March 19, 1790 .
