NGC 2962 is a lenticular galaxy of Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 82 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly. Together with NGC 2966 and PGC 27248 , it forms the NGC 2966 group .
The Type Ia supernova SN 1995D was observed here.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on December 10, 1864 .
