NGC 2977 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Draco the northern sky . It is estimated to be 142 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on April 2, 1801 by the astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
