NGC 2926 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 193 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 2944 .
The type Ic supernova SN 2012C was observed here.
The object was discovered by Johann Palisa on March 27, 1886 .
