NGC 2914 = Arp 137 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 136 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2911 , NGC 2913 , NGC 2919 .

Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies with emanating material (Arp catalog) .

The object was discovered on March 3, 1786 by the astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
