IC 5378 = Arp 130 is an interacting galaxy pair in the constellation Pegasus north of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 280 million light years from the Milky Way . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies close to spiral galaxies and disturbing them (Arp catalog) .
The object was discovered by Isaac Roberts on November 17, 1895 .
