IC 6 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 280 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 65,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies IC 8 and IC 12 .
The object was discovered by Truman Henry Safford on September 23, 1867 .
