IC 12 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sab in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is about 274 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 65,000 light years .
The object was discovered on November 7th, 1891 by Stéphane Javelle .
