NGC 2894 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 90 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 2882 , NGC 2906 , IC 540 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on January 23, 1784 .
