NGC 2919 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 103 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2911 , NGC 2913 , NGC 2914 .
The object was discovered on February 1, 1877 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel .
