NGC 2919 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 103 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 2911 , NGC 2913 , NGC 2914 .

The object was discovered on February 1, 1877 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel .
