NGC 2893 is a lenticular galaxy with a high rate of star formation of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 74 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 2475 , IC 2476 , IC 2479 , IC 2480 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 13, 1785 .
