NGC 2880 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type I / SB0 in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 73 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 40,000 ly.
Together with NGC 2805 , NGC 2814 , NGC 2820 and IC 2458 , it forms the NGC 2805 group (also Holmberg 124 ).

The object was discovered by William Herschel on April 2, 1791 .
