IC 2943 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is estimated to be 263 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light-years across. Together with NGC 3759 , it probably forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3733 , NGC 3737 , NGC 3738 , NGC 3756 .

The object was discovered on July 6, 1896 by Hermann Kobold .
