IC 2951 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 270 million light-years away from the Milky Way , has a diameter of about 110,000 ly, and is a member of the Leo galaxy cluster Abell 1367 .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3837 , NGC 3841 , NGC 3842 , NGC 3845 .

The object was discovered on March 5, 1897 by Friedrich Bidschof .
