IC 3556 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 330 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 35,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4558 , NGC 4563 , IC 3559 , IC 3561 .
The object was discovered by Max Wolf on March 23, 1903 .
