NGC 4558 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 351 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 80,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4556 , NGC 4563 , IC 3556 , IC 3559 , among others .
The object was discovered on April 19, 1827 by John Herschel .
