NGC 4534 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type SD in the constellation Canes Venatici the northern sky . It is estimated to be 37 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on May 1, 1785 by the astronomer William Herschel using his 18.7 inch reflector telescope.
