NGC 4515 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy of the Hubble type E-S0 in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 41 million light years from the Milky Way and about 20,000 light years across. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 1475 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4498 , NGC 4502 , IC 3471 , IC 3505 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 21, 1784 .
