NGC 4499 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Centaur in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 159 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter.

The galaxy NGC 4507 is located in the same area of ​​the sky .
