NGC 4495 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Haar der Berenice in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 204 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 85,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 4514 , IC 3402 , IC 3441 , IC 3451 .
The supernovae SN 1994S , SN 2010lo and SN 2011ca were observed here.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1785 .
