NGC 4561 = IC 3569 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Haar der Berenike in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 61 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years across.
The galaxy IC 3605 is located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on April 27, 1785 by the astronomer William Herschel using his 18.7-inch mirror telescope. It is very likely that entry IC 3569 in the index catalog also refers to this galaxy.
