IC 4337 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 324 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies IC 944 , IC 946 , IC 948 , IC 950 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on June 25, 1897 .
