IC 4355 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Canes Venatici north of the celestial equator . It is an estimated 116 million light years away from the Milky Way and is approximately 45,000 light years across .
The galaxies NGC 5380 , NGC 5394 , NGC 5395 , IC 4356 are located in the same area of ​​the sky .

The type IIP supernova SN 2000ck was observed here.

The object was discovered on June 2, 1896 by Stéphane Javelle .
