The costs amounted to around 800,000 DM and it was produced by Bavaria Atelier GmbH, today's Bavaria Film , on behalf of the WDR .

content
The film tells the story of a young man who has been sentenced to ten years in prison for manslaughter in emotions. The psychologist Erika Runge asks him about his life and his motives. The young bricklayer Peter (Vitus Zeplichal) experienced a loveless childhood with his wealthy innkeeper parents. When he did not succeed in gaining the affection of his parents through submission and good behavior, he married hastily and moved to the big city, where he continued the cramped efforts to buy the love of those around him. By adapting more and more assiduously, he gets more and more into a mental impasse. In addition, there are performance constraints and mountains of debt. When he loses his job, he goes nuts and in the affect kills a host who reminds him of his father.
