Iconcrash is a rock band from Helsinki , Finland , whose sound is shaped by the voice of front man Jaani Peuhu . The band members include Arttu Juntunen ( keyboard , vocals), Riku-Niilo Mattila ( bass ), Matti Toivonen ( guitar ) and Oskari Vilmunen ( drums ).
history
The debut album Nude was released by the Anglo-Finnish record company Parole Records shortly after the live band formed in the spring of 2005. Their second album, Enochian Devices , was released five years later, in 2010, with the collaboration of EMI Finland and Dynasty Recordings. The album was recorded at Dynasty and Sonic Pump Studios , and production lasted for over a year. The reactions to Enochian Devices were very positive and the singles Strange, Strange Dark Star and Everlasting were played very often on Finnish radio. On the list of the most wanted songs of the Finnish radio station Ylex, both songs reached the top position. The song Strange, Strange Dark Star is also part of the Clive Barker film Midnight Meat Train . There, however, the original version is not used, but a remix made by Justin Larsen ( Lady Gaga , Linkin Park , Nine Inch Nails ). Three Enochian Devices songs can also be heard in Petteri Summanen's film Blackout .
The band Inkeroinen's third album was released on September 14, 2011 via Dynasty Helsinki. This time the recording only took half as long as usual, which is why Inkeroinen was finished within six months. The band chose the Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Miloco Music Box in London, Ten Studios in Stockholm and the Mansion of Magnusborg in Porvoo as locations for the creation. Under the direction of Jaani Peuhus, all band members were closely involved in the creation process of the album. The band received additional support from Lee Slater ( The Vaccines , Thirty Seconds to Mars , Kylie Minogue , Glasvegas), Arttu Peljo ( Chisu , Disco Ensemble , Sunrise Avenue , Jenni Vartiainen ), Antti Eräkangas ( Lauri , Von Hertzen Brothers , The Rasmus ) and Sampo Haapaniemi ( Egotrippi , Teleks , Johanna Kurkela ). The video for the single Stockholm was broadcast on "Voice Tv" and "MTV Finland" in "heavy rotation".
In spring 2012 Iconcrash took part with their song We Are the Night in the preliminary round to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest and reached the final there, which was broadcast live from the Helsinki ice rink. We Are The Night was voted at the top of the Ylex radio station's Most Wanted list three times.
In addition to an extensive tour of Finland, Iconcrash have already played in England , Russia , Central Europe , the Baltic States and the United States of America . Iconcrash performed with bands such as My Chemical Romance , White Lies , Anathema , Royal Republic , Atari Teenage Riot and the Kaiser Chiefs .
