Ina, Peter und die Rasselbande is a German feature film by Fritz Genschow from 1955. Genschow not only directed, but also worked on the script, produced the film and played a leading role in it.

action

The siblings Ina and Peter, who are not even ten years old, no longer have parents. They are therefore sent to an orphanage by the youth welfare office, which is under the direction of Ms. Schubert. The children find it difficult to cope with the new environment. The children housed there are currently busy planning an upcoming party for which the motto is still open. The boys want to celebrate a Struwwelpeter festival, the girls, however, a flower children festival. Ina and Peter are involved in the preparations, which helps them to settle in better. Tobbi, a journalist who is friends with the children, suggests that they make a competition out of which topic the children implement. He also makes himself available as a referee to decide which of the two topics the children have implemented better.

All children immediately set about implementing their ideas full of energy. In their excessive zeal, they sometimes act louder than the Krusenboom couple, who live in the immediate vicinity of the orphanage, are willing to accept. More than once, Ina and Peter, in particular, clash with the couple, whose annoyance is so great that they are thinking about making sure that the orphanage is closed.

Ina and Peter gradually manage to soften the heart of the former military musician and his wife and turn their rejection into affection, which ultimately leads to their finding a new home with the Krusen booms.

production

Filming, background

The film was produced in a makeshift studio in the Hildegard Wegscheider children's home in Berlin-Wannsee. The outdoor shots were also taken in Berlin-Wannsee.

With this realistic film (he otherwise shot numerous fairy tales ), producer Genschow wanted to "entertain the children's audience" and "to touch the hearts of adults for the unintentional misfortune of these children of being homeless."

publication

On April 3, 1955 Ina, Peter and the rascals had its premiere in the Gloria-Palast in Berlin.

The film was released on DVD by VZ-Handelsgesellschaft on November 28, 2017.

criticism

The lexicon of international film judged the work harshly and criticized the work as "(k) aum entertaining and too superficial to meet pedagogical standards". The children's film wants to use the teasing and sweetish game plot to denounce childish bad habits and to prepare up to 10-year-olds for social behavior. In summary, Margarete Erber-Groiss described the film as "childish mess" with "clichéd presentation".
