The Industrial Road North is a 5.6 km long by four lanes and mostly without crossing developed expressway in Salzgitter that the northwest of the city with the northeast and the largest district Lebenstedt and the A 39 with the third largest district Thiede (, the northern industrial area Salzgitter AG , Volkswagenwerk Salzgitter ), connects the port and the so-called canal villages . Together with Nord-Süd-Straße and Industriestraße Mitte as well as Kanalstraße , it is one of the most important regional streets in Salzgitter.
Industriestraße Nord is part of a total of 8.9 kilometers long, continuous four-lane Kreisstraße 39 , which also runs through the city of Lebenstedt to the west, but bears the name Ludwig-Erhard-Straße there and is not developed without intersections.

Lebenstedt area
Kreisstraße 39 begins as Ludwig-Erhard-Straße in the north of Lebenstedts east of Salzgittersee . There it emerges from Albert-Schweitzer-Straße (L 472), which already begins in the south at the junction Konrad-Adenauer-Straße ( Kreisstraße 30 ) / Willy-Brandt-Straße and thus the urban feeder to Industriestraße Nord and Industriestraße Middle connects. The state road 472 branches off as Suthwiesenstraße in a north-west direction to Broistedt in the north.
Ludwig-Erhard-Strasse has four lanes, but is not free of intersections. The surrounding villages and the urban area of Lebenstedt with the Salzgittersee are connected to the road via several crossings . On the north-eastern outskirts of Lebenstedt, Peiner Strasse ( Kreisstrasse 10 ) in the direction of Lengede , Broistedt, Engelnstedt with the commercial area and Salder crosses Kreisstrasse 39, before this continues north of the Engelnstedt district to junction 17 of the federal motorway 39 . The driveway in the direction of Kassel is not free of intersections.
Industriestrasse Nord expressway
Behind the driveway in the direction of Kassel, Kreisstraße 39 is called Industriestraße Nord. From now on it has been expanded to the western entrance of the Volkswagen plant in Salzgitter without crossing. This already applies to the motorway entrance in the direction of Braunschweig. A connection point to the county road 12 can Üfingen , Sauingen , Bleckenstedt and Hallendorf be achieved. After the Salzgitter branch canal is crossed over a bridge, another junction follows, through which Groß Gleidingen , Beddingen with harbor, Salzgitter AG , Wolfenbüttel and the federal road 248 can be reached via the district road 16 . The expansion of Industriestraße Nord ends at the western entrance of the Volkswagen factory. A parking lot can previously be reached from the west without any intersections. After the eastern entrance to the factory, the car park can also be reached from the east without any intersections. Shortly afterwards, Industriestraße Nord ends at Eisenhüttenstraße (L 618) which leads to Thiede , Leiferde , Geitelde and Salzgitter AG (head office) as well as the A 39.

Integration into the Salzgitters extra-urban road system
The connection of Industriestraße Nord to other important traffic arteries such as the federal motorway 39 and Eisenhüttenstraße means that Braunschweig and Kassel as well as the districts of Thiede and Hallendorf can also be reached in a short time.
In addition, the Nord-Süd-Straße , the Industriestraße Mitte ( Kreisstraße 30 ) and the Kanalstraße complement the four-lane supra-local road system in Salzgitter's south and north-west.
