The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) is an international association of medical student organizations . It was founded in 1951 and today comprises over 100 organizations. The core of the cooperation are exchange projects such as the international internship and research exchange. It allows the exchange of ideas and experiences between medical students worldwide.

Within IFMSA, the “ Standing Committees ” ensure that work is ongoing. These cover a wide range of topics, from health policy and human rights to medical training, traineeship exchanges and sexual education.

Meetings and activities

The IFMSA member organizations meet twice a year in the form of General Assemblies (GA), in March ( March Meeting , MM) and August ( August Meeting , AM) at different locations.
