Isabel de Navarre

Isabel de Navarre (born June 25, 1956 in Bad Tölz ) is a former German figure skater who started in a single run .

Life

De Navarre started figure skating in Bad Tölz when he was three years old . In doing so, she emulated her sister, Yvonne, who was eight years older than her and who took seventh place in the German championships in 1969. Her decision to go figure skating was made when she saw figure skaters like Mona Szabo and Peter Szabo ( Switzerland ), Günter Anderl ( Austria ), Manfred Schnelldorfer and Gudrun Hauss and Walter Häffner (all Germany) during summer training in Bad Tölz years later . De Navarre's trainer at the ECT - Eisclub Tölz was Trude Bacherer from Vienna.

In 1970/71, on the advice of her trainer, de Navarre switched to the then national trainer Erich Zeller in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , who also looked after her until the end of her career. Since 1972 she started for the SCR - Sportklub Riessersee. In 1975 she became the German women's champion and took fifth place in the 1976 Winter Olympics. She was the world's best compulsory runner in her time and also won compulsory competition at the 1976 Winter Olympics .

De Navarre is a technical specialist of the International Skating Union and a qualified ice skating trainer.
