society

Shechter started his career in the youth team of Hapoel Haifa and was brought into the youth department of Hapoel Nazareth Illit in 2001 . At the club from Nazareth , he joined the first team in 2005. In his first season Shechter rose with the club because of the worse goal difference against Hapoel Kfar Saba from the highest Israeli league.

The striker then moved to Maccabi Netanja . In the first season they were runner-up and qualified for the UEFA Cup . The Israeli made his first game at European club level on August 16, 2007 against the representative from Portugal , União Leiria in qualifying for the UEFA Cup. The game in Leiria ended 0-0, Shechter played through and received a yellow card, but they could not qualify for the finals due to a defeat in the second leg. At the end of the 2007/08 season they became runner-up again. After a fourth place in 2008/09 with Netanya, Shechter moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv at the beginning of the 2009/10 season . There he qualified for the Europa League for the first time . Hapoel won the group ahead of the German Bundesliga and UEFA Cup semi-finalists Hamburger SV , the Scottish first division club Celtic Glasgow and the Austrian record champions Rapid Wien and reached the round of 32.Shechter scored two goals in six games (against HSV and Rapid ).

After several months of negotiations, which were made more difficult by the unresolved balance of power at Hapoel Tel Aviv, 1. FC Kaiserslautern signed Shechter on July 11, 2011. He signed a four-year contract valid for the first and second Bundesliga . On the first day of the match he made his debut for FCK when he came on as a substitute for Richard Sukuta-Pasu at half time against Werder Bremen . On the second day of the match he scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg . After 1. FC Kaiserslautern lost at 1. FSV Mainz 05 , Shechter, who was not part of the squad due to injury, was the target of anti-Semitic insults during training the following day . In the Lauterern, Shechter was ultimately unable to replace Srđan Lakić, who had previously moved to Wolfsburg, and lost his regular place over the course of the season. At the end of the season, FCK was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In August 2012, Shechter moved to Swansea City on loan with an option to buy for the 2012/13 season . In June 2013, Hapoel Tel Aviv signed him again. From January 31, 2014, Shechter was loaned to FC Nantes until June 30, 2014 . FC Nantes then used an agreed purchase option and signed him for two more years. He scored his first goal for Nantes on matchday 6 of the 2014/15 season of Ligue 1 against OGC Nice .

The striker made his debut for the Israeli national team on April 1, 2009 against Greece in Heraklion in the World Cup qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa . Shechter played until the 74th minute before he was substituted on for Barak Itzhaki . The game was lost with 1: 2.
