Jörg Reichlin

Jörg Reichlin (born August 25, 1949 in Saas Fee ) is a Swiss actor , director and author .

Life

Education and theater

Jörg Reichlin was born in the canton of Valais . From 1970 to 1973 he completed his acting training at the stage studio of the Zurich Acting Academy . He had his first engagements in 1973 at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich and at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel . 1973/74 he was engaged as a guest at the Stadttheater Bern . In 1974/75 he was on tour with the Swiss independent theater group “Theater 58 Zürich”. In 1976/77 he played at the Lore Bronner stage in Munich and at the "Galerietheater Die Rampe" in Bern .

From 1977 to 1980 he performed at the Theater an der Winkelwiese in Zurich . From 1981 Jörg Reichlin played regularly at the theater for the Canton of Zurich . He had other stage engagements at the Atelier-Theater Bern (1986), the Städtebundtheater Biel-Solothurn (1987–1989), the Mayen Castle Festival (1990) and the Stadttheater Luzern (1992/93). He played at the Schauspielhaus Zürich , the Stadttheater Basel , the Stadttheater Freiburg im Breisgau and on various tours.

In the course of his career, Reichlin has appeared in over 120 different roles. His stage roles included u. a. the Mackie Messer , Graf Wetter von Strahl (at Theater Biel-Solothurn, director: Neidhardt Nordmann), Mosca , Bluntschli , Sir Andrew von Bleichenwang , Jupiter in Kleist's " Amphitryon " (Kleist), the soldier in " Andorra ", Romeo and the title role in " Der Regenmacher ".

In addition to his work as an actor, Reichlin also worked regularly as a theater director. He realized over thirty of his own productions. From 1993 to 1998 Reichlin was artistic director and artistic director of the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival for six seasons , where he stood out with his own productions (including plays by Shakespeare , Ben Jonson , Dario Fo and Eugène Labiche ).

Since 1977 he has also written plays. His first stage work "Der Fensterputzer Karl" was performed over 200 times in Germany. Musicals, radio plays and scripts followed later. In 1988 he founded the part-time drama school «BeScha» in Aarau . He staged several plays and musicals with students and amateurs.

Movie and TV

Reichlin has appeared in front of the camera in numerous cinema and TV roles. His TV career began in 1969, before he started his acting training, in an NDR TV studio in Hamburg , where he played a hashish dealer for the court show " Das Fernsehgericht meets " .

Reichlin played his best-known film role under the direction of Egon Günther in the literary film adaptation of " Ursula " (1978), a co-production for East German television and Swiss television . In the film, which became a television scandal due to revealing scenes, a possible violation of religious feelings and the controversial portrayal of Zwingli and the Anabaptists, Reichlin portrayed the mercenary Hansli Gyr.

In the Austrian TV love drama “ Mirko und Franca ” (1979) he played the male lead alongside Irina Wanka as the Yugoslav sculptor Mirko, who fell in love with the psychologically unstable Franca in the Italian port city of Trieste .

He also worked in various television films and series in the German, Swiss-German and French-speaking areas.

Private

Jörg Reichlin is married and has four children. He has been living at the foot of the Bachtel in Rüti ZH for several years .
