Jörg Reimers

Jörg Reimers (* 1954 in Echem ) is a German actor .

Life

The qualified actor Jörg Reimers learned his artistic craft in Hamburg. There he was on stage for the first time in Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening at the Thalia Theater . A three-year guest performance at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt followed in 1979 , before Reimers moved to the Schlosstheater Moers in 1982 . From 1988 to 2001 he had a longer engagement at the Wuppertaler Bühnen , in between he also appeared as a guest at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and at the Magdeburg Theater . In the 2001/02 season Reimers was engaged at the Schauspiel Leipzig , in the following years he played on touring stages. Since 2010 he has been a regular guest at the Bad Hersfeld Festival .

Well-known roles of Reimers were Ferdinand in Friedrich Schiller's Cabal and Love , Ruprecht in the Broken Jug by Heinrich von Kleist , in which he also played the village judge Adam in later years . In Wuppertal Reimers was in the title roles of Heinrich VI. by William Shakespeare , Schiller's Wilhelm Tell or as communist mayor Peppone in Don Camillo and Peppone based on the novel by Giovannino Guareschi . In Bad Hersfeld Reimers appeared repeatedly on stage as Ubertin von Casale in a stage version of Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose . Well-known directors with whom he worked were Klaus Emmerich , Thomas Gimbel , Jochen Busse and often Holk Freytag , the long-time director of the Bad Hersfeld Festival.

Since the early 1990s, Reimers has also been a very busy film and television actor, mostly in guest roles in well-known series such as Die Camper , Kommissar Stolberg , Mord mit Aussicht or SOKO Cologne . Tom Tykwer cast him in a small role in his film The Warrior and the Empress , as did Johannes Fabrick in the television film The Last Beautiful Day .

Jörg Reimers lives in Wuppertal.
