Jakub Šindel (born January 24, 1986 in Jihlava , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with SHC Fassa in the Italian A1 series since summer 2012 . His father Jaromír was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Jakub Šindel began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth division of HC Slavia Prague , where he was active until 2003. Towards the end of the 2002/03 season, the center moved within the top U20 junior division in the Czech Republic to HC Sparta Prague , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 2003/04 season . In his rookie year , he scored six goals and two assists in a total of 47 games. He also came to work as a loan player for HC Dukla Jihlava from his hometown in the second-class first division . The 2004/05 season he started again at HC Sparta Prague in the Extraliga, where he also played five games for SK Horácká Slavia Třebíč in the first division as a loan player . Most of the season he spent, however, with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Canadian junior league Western Hockey League .
For the 2005/06 season , Šindel initially returned to HC Sparta Prague, but after only twelve games within the league, he moved to HC Plzeň 1929 , for which he ran up in the following three years. From 2006 to 2008 he was also used for BK Mladá Boleslav as a loan player in the first division. In the middle of the 2008/09 season he joined the Pelicans Lahti , for whom he scored 19 scorer points in a total of 31 games in the Finnish SM-liiga , including nine goals. The 2009/10 season he spent with the Extraliga participant HC Kometa Brno . He was then committed by Tappara Tampere , for which he participated in the pre-season game operation of the European Trophy . However , he finally spent the entire 2010/11 season at his ex-club Pelicans Lahti.
In September 2011, joined Šindel to the Kloten Flyers of the Swiss National League A . For the team, he prepared two goals in five games before he was signed in October for the remainder of the 2011/12 season by Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League . For the Latvians he scored one goal in 21 games before he was transferred to Kärpät Oulu from the SM-liiga in December 2011 . After playing nine games for Porin Ässät in the spring , he moved to SHC Fassa in the Italian Serie A1 in summer 2012 .
International
For the Czech Republic , Šindel took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2003 and 2004 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2004 and 2006 . At the U18 World Cup in 2004, he and his team won the bronze medal.
