Jamaa Chnaik (born July 28, 1984 ) is a Moroccan athlete who competes in the sprint , long jump and triple jump .

Athletic career

Jamaa Chnaik gained her first international experience in 2007 at the Pan-Arab Games in Cairo , where she finished fourth in the triple jump with 12.54 m. Two years later she reached sixth place in the long jump at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara with 5.89 m, while she landed seventh with 13.36 m in the triple jump. Then she was eliminated from the Francophonie Games in Beirut in the 100-meter run with 12.04 s in the first round, reached fourth place in the long jump with a width of 6.26 m and won the triple jump with 13.35 m Silver medal behind Vanessa Gladonne from France . She then took part for the first time in the Arab Championships in Damascus , where she won the silver medal over 100 meters behind the Syrian Munira Saleh in 11.74 s . In addition, she won the bronze medal in the 200-meter run in 25.05 s behind Saleh and Gulustan Mahmood from Iraq. Also in the long jump she won the bronze medal with 5.80 m behind the Sudanese Yamilé Aldama and Inas Mohamed Mansour from Egypt, while in the triple jump with 13.38 m she only had to admit defeat to the Sudanese Aldama. In addition, she secured the silver medal in the Moroccan 4 x 100 meter relay in 47.98 s. In 2010 she won the bronze medal in the long jump at the African Championships in Nairobi with 6.30 m behind the Nigerians Blessing Okagbare and Comfort Onyali . In addition, she finished sixth in the triple jump with 13.38 m. She then finished eighth in the long jump at the Athletics Continental Cup in Split with 5.78 m.

In 2011 she finished fifth in the triple jump at the World Military Games in Rio de Janeiro with a width of 13.28 m and sixth in the long jump with 6.09 m. She then won the silver medal in the long jump behind Algerian Tahani Romaissa Belabiod at the Arab Championships in al-Ain with 5.91 m and in the triple jump she won the bronze medal behind Baya Rahouli from Algeria and the Egyptian Enas Gharib . This was followed by winning the bronze medal over 100 meters in 12.08 s at the Arab Games in Doha , where she also won bronze in the long and triple jump with 5.86 m and 12.76 m respectively. The following year, she won the bronze medal in the triple jump behind the Ugandan Sarah Nambawa and Charlene Potgieter from South Africa at the African Championships in Porto-Novo with a new national record of 13.75 m . In addition, she finished fifth in the long jump with 6.07 m. In 2013 she reached sixth place in the long jump with 6.13 m and tenth place in the triple jump with 12.90 m at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin . Then she won the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang with 5.95 m in the long jump and won the silver medal in the triple jump with 12.99 m behind the Azerbaijani Yekaterina Sarijewa . The following year she was classified at the African Championships in Marrakech with 12.83 m in seventh place in the triple jump, while she came in tenth in the long jump with 5.85 m. In 2015 she won the triple jump with 13.51 m at the Arab Championships in Manama and won the silver medal in the long jump with 6.05 m behind the Algerian Romaissa Belabiod.

In the following two years she did not play any international competitions, but won the Moroccan Championships in Kenitra again in 2018 . In 2019 she won the bronze medal in the long jump at the Arab Championships in Cairo with 5.86 m behind the Egyptian Esraa Owis and her compatriot Yousra Lajdoud . In August she won the silver medal in the triple jump behind the Nigerian Grace Anigbata at her first African Games in Rabat with 13.69 m and reached 15th place in the long jump with 5.69 m.

From 2009 to 2011, Chnaik was the Moroccan champion in the 100-meter run and in 2010 also over 200 meters. In the long jump, she secured the championship titles from 2009 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2015 and 2018 and 2019. In the triple jump she won in 2007, 2009 and 2010, 2014 and 2015, as well as 2018 and 2019.
