James Noble (actor)

James Wilkes Noble (born March 5, 1922 in Dallas , Texas , † March 28, 2016 in Norwalk , Connecticut ) was an American actor .

Life

James Noble was born to Ralph Byrne and Lois Frances Wilkes Noble. He was married to actress Carolyn Owen Coates since May 19, 1956 and had a daughter with her.

Mainly he worked as a serial actor and played supporting and leading roles in various television series. He had appearances in Starsky & Hutch (1978), Hart aber cordially (1979), Fantasy Island (1982), Love Boat (1981, 1983 and 1984), Agentin mit Herz (1987) and A Greek conquers Chicago (1989). His best-known role was that of Governor Eugene Xavier Gatling in the sitcom Benson . Until 2011 he was seen in more than 60 film and television productions.
