Jamie Anderson (cinematographer)

James M. "Jamie" Anderson (* in New York City ) is an American cameraman and grandson of the American playwright Maxwell Anderson .

Life

Although Jamie M. Anderson grew up as the grandson of the playwright Maxwell Anderson and the son of a television director in New York City , he aimed to study architecture at Syracuse University , which he dropped out after the first year. In the summer he moved to New York University to study as a cameraman . With the help of his father's contacts, he got his assistant job at Howard Zieff , with whom he shot some commercials. After he left university without a degree, his fellow student Jon Davison referred him to Roger Corman , where he worked as a camera assistant for low-budget filmsworked. Through further engagements as a documentary and commercial filmmaker, it was in 1976 the two comedies Hollywood Boulevard and The Great Texas Dynamite Chase that Anderson first worked independently as a cameraman. Since then he has mainly worked as a cameraman for films such as Still a Strange Couple , Small Soldiers and The Girl Next Door .
