Jan Olde Riekerink (born February 22, 1963 in Hengelo ) is a former Dutch football player and today's official and coach .

Career

Player career

Olde Riekerink played for Sparta Rotterdam , FC Dordrecht and Telstar during his active career .

Coaching career

Two years after retiring, Olde Riekerink began his coaching career in the youth team at Ajax Amsterdam . He worked there for seven years and then moved to KAA Gent in Belgium . Then he coached FC Emmen and from 2005 to 2007 he was assistant coach of Co Adriaanse . In 2007 Olde Riekerink returned to Ajax Amsterdam and was head of the youth academy there for four years. In China he was responsible for the Chinese U-20 and U-16 selection.

At the end of February 2016, Galatasaray Istanbul hired him to head the youth academy. Three weeks later, the Dutchman was the head coach of the first team until the end of the 2015/16 season. On May 26, 2016, he and his team won the Turkish Cup . Before the start of the 2016/17 season, Galatasaray appointed him head coach for the coming season; both parties agreed to work together until the end of the season. Shortly before the start of the 2016/17 season, Olde Riekerink and his team won the Turkish Supercup . On February 15, 2017, Galatasaray Istanbul announced the separation from Olde Riekerink. The team was at the time in the Süper Lig in 3rd place in the table and in the Turkish Cup they were eliminated in the second round against Istanbul Başakşehir .
