Janne Jalasvaara (born April 15, 1984 in Oulu ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Kunlun Red Star in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Janne Jalasvaara began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Kärpät Oulu , where he was active until 2001. He then moved to the juniors of Espoo Blues , for whose professional team he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the 2002/03 season . In a total of 17 games he remained without points and received four penalty minutes. In the following three years, the defender was regularly used for Espoo in the SM-liiga, but could not finally prevail and played as a loan player for the Finnish U20 national team , Haukat , Salamat and Kiekko-Vantaa in the second-rate Mestis .
For the 2006/07 season Jalasvaara moved within the SM-liiga to KalPa Kuopio , where he developed into a leading player in the following years. His greatest success with KalPa was reaching third place in the 2008/09 season . In January 2011, the Finn was signed by OHK Dynamo from the Continental Hockey League . For the Russians he scored two goals in a total of 16 games by the end of the season and prepared five. Following Dynamo's first round in the playoffs, his contract was prematurely extended by two years. A year later he won the KHL championship trophy , the Gagarin Cup, with the OHK Dynamo .
By 2015 Jalasvaara had played a total of 270 KHL games for Dynamo Moscow, before his contract expired in summer 2015 and he moved to HK Sochi on the Black Sea coast . A year later he moved within the league to the newly founded club Kunlun Red Star and came to 56 missions for the KHL participant from Beijing .
International
For Finland , Jalasvaara took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in 2002 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2003 and 2004 . At both U20 World Championships he and his team won the bronze medal. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2011 and the 2013 Men's World Cup .
